Small Changes to Transition Your Decor to Fall

There is something about the cozy sweaters, dark nail polish, smell of leaves, and pumpkin <i>anything</i> that warms my heart as the days get chillier. While my decor is packed with colour during the spring and summer, I like to remove some of the pastel hues and stick to a crisper palette in my space during the colder months. The key to this is editing. One Room - Two Palettes: Transitioning your Home Decor for Fall in Five Minutes

<div style="text-align: center;">We all know that the big trend I am loving for fall is black and white. I say 'trend' because it's a popular look this season, but let's face it, black and white is about as classic and timeless as it comes. I didn't buy anything new, just used items I already had around my place.This goes to show you that switching up your decor doesn't have to cost a lot of money or take a lot of time. Also don't be afraid to improvise! The dalmation dot pillow cover is really a dress from H&M tied around a pillow form. Shh don't tell!</div><div style="text-align: center;">First I switched out the art pieces. Next I traded the colourful throw pillows. Pumpkin Everything: pumpkin pie, pumpkin carving, pumpkin cupcakes, and especially pumpkin spiced lattes. Who's with me?<br />2. Chunky Cableknits:  Is there anything better than curling up in a chunky oversized sweater with a good book? A cableknit looks great with leggings, jeans, even a skirt! A quintessential fall classic.<br />3. Riding Boots: Your go-everywhere-in-comfort-and-style must have boot. Bonus points if your thick woolen socks stick out the top. I am on the hunt for a new pair. <br />4. Changing Colours: Just one of nature's many inspirations. I love going for walks and bike rides and taking in the beauty that God blesses us with daily during the fall!<br />5.
